Peak ratings of the signature hybrid powertrain are 494 hp and 630 lb-ft. Additionally, the hybrid propulsion system has an impressive towing rating of 5,600 pounds.

Paired with a 3.3 L V6 gas engine, the 2020 Ford Explorer's hybrid powertrain is rated at 318 hp and 322 lb-ft. Driven by a twin turbocharger, the vehicle's 3.0 L EcoBoost engine matches the Aviator's standard V6 engine. Additionally, the 2.3 L EcoBoost I-4 engine peaks at 300 hp and 310 lb-ft. When properly optimized, this full-size Ford SUV tows up to 5,600 pounds.
